Questions about
pricing.

No. Opening and holding a Troygold account is free — no monthly fee, no management fee, no hidden charges. You pay a spread when you buy gold, a small storage fee on your holdings, and usage fees only when you upload, redeem, or draw credit.
When you buy gold you pay above the live spot price — from +5.5% for purchases of 1 oz or more, up to +8.5% for the smallest fractional purchases. This includes the Krugerrand premium. When you sell, you receive spot +0.5%, regardless of amount. The rate is always shown before you confirm any transaction.
Storage is tiered by how much gold you own: 0.5% p.a. for 10 oz or more, 0.75% p.a. for 1–10 oz, and 1% p.a. below 1 oz. The fee is calculated on the maximum amount of gold you own in a given month, levied in gold, and deducted from your holdings at month end. Insurance is included — there are no separate custody or insurance fees.
Uploading physical Krugerrands costs a flat R500 courier fee — we collect from your door. Redeeming physical gold costs 0.5% of the value plus a R1,725 courier fee, and your Krugerrands are delivered to your door in secure packaging.
Your interest rate is tiered by your gold holdings: Prime + 3% for 10 oz or more, Prime + 6% for 1–10 oz, and Prime + 9% below 1 oz. You can draw up to 50% of the market value of your gold, and interest is charged monthly only on what you use.
